API Development for Production SaaS and Mobile Apps

Senior custom API development: REST, WebSockets, webhooks, queues and GraphQL. Backed by FlexiCommerce's ~500 production endpoints. Full code ownership.

// the short answer

Ujjwal Technolabs builds production APIs — REST endpoints, WebSocket channels, webhooks, background queues, and GraphQL where it genuinely fits. Founded by Deepak Nagar with 12+ years of full-stack experience, we run our own multi-tenant SaaS, FlexiCommerce, which exposes roughly 500 endpoints serving paying customers. We design APIs that mobile apps, partners, and your own front-ends can rely on.

What we build with APIs

An API is the contract between your data and everything that consumes it — web apps, native mobile apps, third-party integrations, and automated workflows. We ship:

  • REST APIs for SaaS back-ends and mobile clients — versioned, authenticated, paginated, and documented.
  • Real-time layers using WebSockets for live updates: order status, chat, dashboards, notifications.
  • Webhooks — both inbound (receiving events from Razorpay, Stripe, PayU, PhonePe) and outbound (notifying partners of events in your system), with signature verification and retry handling.
  • Queue-backed jobs on Redis for anything slow or spiky — image processing, email, report generation, AI generation calls — so your API stays fast under load.
  • GraphQL APIs when a client needs flexible, nested queries and you want to avoid endpoint sprawl.
  • Payment and integration plumbing — the unglamorous webhook reconciliation and idempotency logic that keeps money and state correct.

Where APIs fit

A well-designed API is the right investment when:

  • You have more than one client — a web app and one or more mobile apps that share the same data and logic.
  • You need partners or customers to integrate with you programmatically.
  • You're handling payments, where webhooks and idempotency are non-negotiable for correctness.
  • You want real-time behaviour — live order tracking, presence, collaborative features.
  • You're building a platform others will extend, and a clean public API is part of the product.

If your project is a single brochure website or a static landing page, you may not need a custom API at all — and we'll tell you so rather than sell you complexity.

Our proof

API design is core to how we work — it isn't a side skill. FlexiCommerce, our flagship multi-tenant e-commerce SaaS, exposes roughly 500 API endpoints in production. Those endpoints power three native Flutter apps, a Vue 3 / Inertia admin and storefront, payment webhooks across Razorpay, PayU and PhonePe, and an AI Store Generator — all backed by 187 data models and Redis-driven queues. It was built solo in about 2.5 months and carries paying customers today.

Beyond our own products, we've shipped a Brazilian client's field-inspection app on Flutter, Next.js and Supabase — a stack where a clean API contract between mobile, web and backend is exactly what makes the product reliable in the field. The same discipline applies whether the data layer is Laravel, Node.js, or something else: clear contracts, predictable errors, real authentication, and documentation a second developer can actually use.

Is a custom API the right choice for you?

A custom API is a great fit when you own a real application with multiple consumers, need integrations, or process payments — anywhere correctness and shared logic matter. It's how you avoid duplicating business rules across a website and three apps.

It may be overkill if:

  • You only need a simple website — a content site or marketing page rarely justifies a bespoke API.
  • An off-the-shelf SaaS already does the job; building your own API to replicate a tool you could subscribe to is usually a poor trade.
  • You need a quick internal automation that a no-code tool or a single script handles fine.

When a hosted platform genuinely serves your need better, we'll say so. We'd rather build the API you'll actually depend on than ship one you don't.

How we work and what it costs

We bill from transparent "from" prices, monthly, as the product ships — pay-as-it-ships. You own the full code from day one, you can pause anytime, and there's no platform lock-in. See pricing for the model, browse our services to see how API work fits a larger build, or start with a free AI build plan that maps your endpoints and integrations before you commit. If you want a dedicated backend specialist, you can hire a backend developer for your API layer.

We're remote-first and work worldwide from Indore, India. Reach the founder directly at deepak@flexicommerce.in.

FAQ

The technical questions, answered.

Yes — you own the full code from day one. There's no platform lock-in, and you can pause the engagement anytime. The API and its documentation are yours to host, extend, or hand to another team.

We bill from transparent "from" prices, monthly, as the work ships — pay-as-it-ships rather than a large upfront lump sum. Final cost depends on the number of endpoints, integrations, and real-time requirements. Start with a free AI build plan to scope it honestly.

We default to REST because it's predictable, cacheable and easy for mobile and partner integrations to consume — it powers FlexiCommerce's ~500 production endpoints. We use GraphQL when a client genuinely needs flexible, nested queries and you want to avoid endpoint sprawl. We pick based on your product, not a preference.

Yes. We build REST and WebSocket APIs that power native Flutter and React Native apps, plus inbound and outbound webhooks with signature verification, idempotency and retries. We've done exactly this in production with Razorpay, PayU and PhonePe inside FlexiCommerce.

Only if you have multiple clients sharing data (web plus mobile), need programmatic integrations, handle payments, or want real-time features. For a simple website or a job an existing SaaS already does, a custom API is often unnecessary — and we'll tell you that rather than over-build.
